TX5112 Albert John "Jack" Rose was born in Ulverstone on the 14th December 1919. He had worked as a Chaffcutter Labourer before joining the Army on 5/12/1940. He was sent to the 2/40th Battalion embarking overseas to Koepang. After the Battle of Koepang, Albert was reported missing and later found as a POW in Java. He sent his Mother a POW card saying he was OK. After the war he made his way to Sydney for a few days before arriving home. Albert later Died in 1972.
