Died on this date - 28th January........Private George Alfred Adams was born in Dunedin, New Zealand in 1888. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) on 9th August, 1915 in Adelaide. He was sent to Egypt but returned to Australia & medically discharged (Varicose veins) after serving a total of 339 days, 168 of those days were served as service abroad.

Private Adams re-enlisted on 27th September, 1916 at Warrnambool, Victoria. He embarked for England & was admitted to Fargo Military Hospital, Wiltshire on 22nd January, 1917 & died at 10 am on 28th January, 1917.

All 3 Australian Soldiers who died on this date were buried in Durrington Cemetery, Wiltshire. Adams & Canham were buried on 31st January, 1917 next to each other. Their stories can be found here
