Married to Lillian with three children at the time of enlistment.
The Battalion diary records that they were in the line near Guedecourt in very cold wet conditions on the 9th November 1916. William Wooding was one of 5 Other Ranks wounded and 35 evacuated with exposure.
"THE LATE PRIVATE W.WOODING.
Mrs. L. Wooding, of Delhi-street, City, has been notified that her husband, Private William Wooding, died on November 16. 1916, from wounds received whilst fighting in France.
