Son of Charles and Florence Adelaide Whitley of 'Hilcote', Park Road, Burwood, NSW. Brother of Verer? F.  Whitley and Sydney Walter Claude Whitley who returned to Australia on 21 April 1918 having served with the 54th Battalion
