Arthur George Snook was born in Brompton, South Australia on the 27th of May, 1890 to George Frederick August Snook (father) and Mary Elizabeth Jewson (mother). At the time of his enlistment in The Great War, Arthur George Snook was 5 foot 11 and a half tall, had dark brown hair, a medium complexion and brown hazel eyes.

Arthur was wounded in the eye and leg at Fromelles on 19 July 1916. He recovered from this in a few weeks, but was wounded again in March 1918, this time by gas. He was wounded for a third time on 1 October 1918, this time in the leg. In the meantime he was promoted to Lance Corporal and then Corporal. From his services in the war, he recieved 3 medals/honours; the 1914-15 Star, British war medal and Victory medal.

Arthur George Snook married Ivy Catherine (Kathleen) Mcdonald after he returned from the war. Together the pair had four children; Anita Snook, Raymond George Snook, Donald Frederick Snook and Thomas William Snook. 

Arthure George Snook passed away on the 22nd february, 1958 at Repat Hospital, Springbank, South Australia.
