Biography contributed by Ian Fox

Andrew was a German prisoner war between June 1941 (when he was captured in Crete), and March 1945 (when Stalag VIII-B/Stalag 344 in Silesia was liberated by the Red Army). During this period, he was also held at Stalag 7A in Bavaria.

Andrew arrived in England in May 1945, and disembarked in Sydney in mid-June.
