Marriage and family
Lyall married Gloria Carroll in 1946 at Matcham NSW. They had 2 sons Henry Lyall James born June 1947 and John William born November 1950. Sadly Gloria died a few days after John was born. Her parents Henry and Mary Carroll took on the care of the children. A few years later the children had there surname changed from Morris to Carroll. Gloria is buried at Wamberal cemetery. The children hardly ever saw their father. John died in 2012 from cancer.
