FRANCIS (FRANK) JOHN RADLEY

Francis (Frank) John Radley was born in Guildford West Australia on 10th November 1883. His father was George Radley who at the time was a Royal Mail Driver on the Guildford to York mail run. His mother was Margaret Radley, nee Kilgallon. Frank was the eldest of 4 children born to George and Margaret Radley.

Frank enlisted with the A.I.F. Railway Unit, Section 3 on 15th January 1917 at Blackboy Hill West Australia giving his occupation as a locomotive driver. His rank was private. He embarked Fremantle on 29th January 1917 on H.M.A.T. Miltiades. Disembarked Devonport England 27th March 1917. Posted to France 11th May 1917. Returned to Australia on steamer Konigin Louise on 21st June 1919. Rank, 2nd Corporal Unit 59th Railway Company. Discharged 10th September 1919.

Frank died on 11th August 1948. Frank was the brother of my grandmother Rhoda Mary Jeffs, nee Radley.
