Brother of Alice Victoria Biddle, Beatrice Annie Biddle, Amy Fanny Frances Biddle, William Edward Biddle and Dora Jessamy Biddle.

On 29 May 1919 Merton married Muriel Ruby Wickham in the McLaren Vale Methodist Church, SA
