Gunner John Valintine Kennedy (Service No:WX25937) served in the Army from 22 July 1942 to 19 May 1944. Gunner Kennedy was attached to 109th Anti Tank Regiment RAA at Discharge.

The youngest of seven children, Jack was born in 1922 in Broome WA to Herbert (Bert) Thomas Kennedy (b1883 in Melbourne, Victoria) and Isobel (Nita) Margaret Millar (b1887 in Fremantle, WA). Bert (a Shipping Clerk) and Nita married in 1911 in Broome, WA where they settled and raised their family and Bert worked as a Pearler, Shipping Clerk and Shipping Agent. Nita died in 1926.

Jack was in Perth, WA in 1942 when he enlisted in the Army and following his Discharge, returned to Broome where he worked as a Storeman and was frequently a patient in Broome Hospital. In the 1960s Jack moved to Dalkeith in Perth, WA where he was a Pensioner and patient in the Sunset Hospital. Jack died in 1974.
