The only child of John Garrett Logan (b1891 in Ayrshire, Scotland) and Alice Margaret Middenhall (b1889 in Goulburn NSW), Leonard was born in 1918 in Sydney NSW. John (a Salesman) and Alice married in 1917 in Sydney NSW - John was a Drapery Shop Assistant when he emigrated in 1912, arriving in Sydney NSW on board the SS Ballarat. John died in 1924 and Alice remarried in 1940.

Leonard was a Radio Technician in Sydney NSW in 1940 when he married Elspeth Campbell Short (b1920 in Sydney NSW). Leonard enlisted in the ACMF (Service No:N53208) and was in Gin Gin WA when he enlisted in the Australian Army (Service No:NX132078). Leonard served from 25 September 1942 - 17 November 1945 and was a Staff Sergeant attached to 5 Recruiting Depot (ARD) when he was Discharged in Sydney NSW. Leonard and Elspeth Divorced and both remarried - in June 1945 in Fremantle WA Leonard married Betty Lucretia Howson (b1922 in Mosman Park, Fremantle WA) - Betty also served in WWII (Service No:WF94288).

Leonard and Betty settled in Sydney NSW where Leonard was a Salesman before moving to Katoomba NSW in the mid 1950s. Leonard was a Newspaper Manager in Katoomba, and died in 1961. Betty returned to Perth WA in 1964 where she remarried and died in 2019.
