Ted was the youngest of three children of George Mayman (b1871 in Timor, Victoria) and Elizabeth Morgan (b1872 in Clunes, Ballarat, Victoria). George - a Miner - and Elizabeth married in 1905 in Kalgoorlie, WA where they raised their family.
Ted was a Bank Clerk in July 1929 when he travelled to London on board the Baradine with older sister Elizabeth, a School Teacher. Ted returned to Fremantle in December that year on board the Ballarat.
In 1941 Ted was a Bank Clerk in Perth WA when he enlisted in the ACMF and was a Gunner (Service No:W35340) attached to 109 AT Regiment when he was Discharged in April 1942. Later that year, Ted enlisted with the RAAF and was a Flying Officer (Service No:51812(427392) attached to HQ (DCAS) when he was Discharged in May 1946.
In 1943 Ted married Daphne Reeve Beechey (b1922 in Fremantle WA) and they settled in Floreat Park where Ted was a Bank Officer. In 1969 Ted was Editor of 'Wiew from Kalgoorlie' published by Landfall Press - about Gold mines and mining.
Ted died in 1989 and Daphne in 1997.
