Private Ronald Ernest Ramus (Service No:V74821) served in the ACMF from 21 August 1940 to 2 November 1945. Private Ramus served with 3 Supply Personnel Coy and 22 and 27 Employment Corps, and was attached to 10 Australian Army Canteen Service (AASC) Club at Discharge on 2 November 1945.

Ron was born in Melbourne, Victoria in 1919, youngest of three children of Charles (Charlie) Herbert Ramus (b1891 in Melbourne, Victoria) and Edith Christina Smith (b1893 in Melbourne, Victoria). Charlie was a Boot Operator in 1914 when he and Edith married in Melbourne, where they settled and raised their family and Charlie worked as a Boot Operator.

Ron was working as a Butcher in Melbourne when he enlisted in the ACMF in 1940, and in 1942 in Melbourne married Audrey Jean De Longville (b1923 in Melbourne, Victoria). Following his Discharge, Ron and Audrey settled in Melbourne where Ron was a Butcher and Buyer until his death in 1977.
