Biography contributed by John Edwards

"The news of the sudden death of Captain Frederick Constable, of the firm of Neale, Constable and Co., wholesale Perth chemists, came as a great shock to his many friends throughout Western Australia, especially to those in the Kojonup district, where the deceased gentleman, before enlisting for the war, owned a farming property, between that town and Boyup Brook, in the vicinity of the late Sir Winthrop Hackett's estate. After being seriously wounded and gassed in France, the late Captain Constable was, for a considerable time, engaged in transport work, between Australia and Egypt, and at the conclusion of hostilities, he settled, as an estate agent, at Bairnsdale, in Victoria. A few days ago, while yachting on the Mitchell River, with Mrs. Constable (nee Miss Ada Throssell) and some of their friends, Captain Constable was overtaken with an attack of heart trouble, owing to which he passed away, within a few minutes of the seizure." - Western Mail, Thursday 4 March 1920, page 42 (nla.gov.au)
