Remembering our Soldiers
Percy john Adams was born 3/7/1908 in Port Melbourne. To John Richard Adams and Wilhelmina Adams (nee Sinclair) the youngest of 9 children.
6 boys and 3 girls. William Joesph 1884, Annie May 1887-1888, George Ernest 1892-1928, Arthur Henry 1891-1969, Lillian Agnes 1894-1950, Leslie Charles 1897, Claude Raymond 1900-1977 Stella Irene 1903-1954 then Percy.
Percy (VX102507) was the third of the 6 boys to answer the call of their country. William (2477) 1917- discharge 1920 and brother Leslie Charles Adams (2556) killed in action in France 10/8/1918 I believe Percy and his siblings attended Nott Street State School Port Melbourne
Percy’s oldest son Wesley (39027) also joined the Army
Percy married Maisie Muriel Bobstien in 1941 in Victoria. They went on to have three children.
Wesley John born 22/11/1943 followed by Frances then Rodney in 1948.
Percy passed away 13/4/1990 and was buried at Fawkner Memorial Park on 18/4/1990
Maisie passed away 31/10/2014 and is buried with Percy at Fawkner.
My link to the family comes in the early 1960’s in Moonee Ponds. Rodney and I were best mate and spent many days at the Essendon Baths and at each other’s homes.
The Adams’s lived in Moonee ponds and later moved to Essendon
