One of four brothers who served in WWII, Gunner Edwin Keith Turner (Service Nos:W25915/WX25991) enlisted in the Army at Greenmount WA on 16 December 1941, initially serving in the ACMF with 109 Anti Attack Regiment before transferring to the AIF on 5 July 1942. Gunner Turner was attached to 109 Anti Attack Regiment at Dicharge on 27 September 1944.

Keith was born in Capel, Western Australia in 1921, fifth of seven children of Frederick Henry Turner (b1885 at Goodward Saw Mill, Lockville, Western Australia) and Fanny Shortland (b1888 in Greta, New South Wales). Frederick (a Butcher) and Fanny (a Dressmaker) married in 1911 in Capel, where they settled and raised their family and Frederick was a Butcher and Farmer.

Keith was working as a Butcher in Capel in 1941 when he enlisted in the Army, and in 1943 in Capel, married Beatrice (Betty) May Chapman (b1922 in Kalgoorlie, Western  Australia) - Betty was working as a Shop Assistant in Capel. Keith and Betty settled in Capel, where they raised their family and Keith was a Farmer and Butcher and Betty a Shop Assistant. Keith died in 1993 and Betty in 1997.
