Mr. William Daniel Ryan, formerly a driver in the 38th Battery, A.I.F., died at the Repatriation General Hospital at Hobart on Anzac Day at the age of 39 years. He had been residing with Mr. James Greatbatch at Nubeena, and was nursed by Miss Annie Greatbatch until he was taken to the Repatriation General Hospital. The funeral took place at the Nubeena cemetery on Friday afternoon. The remains were taken to the Church of Christ, where a brief service was Conducted by Pastor W. J. Way. The hymn "Rock of Ages" was sung. Mrs E. Lucas was at the organ. The casket, covered by the Australian flag, was carried to the grave by four of deceased's comrades, Messrs. Eric Benjafield, Jabez Batchelor, Eric Price, and Mr. McNally.
The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. Douglas Free.
