George (Dasho) was the eldest of two children of Charles William Wall (b1887 in Kojonup, WA) and Margaret (Maggie) Ellen Nettleton (b1895 in Jarrahdale, WA). Charles (a Groom at the Swan Mill in Lowden) and Maggie married in 1912 in Lowden, WA. Charles was killed in an accident at the Swan Saw Mill in September 1913 - a few months before the birth of his second son. Maggie remarried in 1918 in Jarrahdale WA and had five children with her second husband, Patrick (Paddy) Hegney).
George lived with his mother and step father in Jarrahdale WA where he worked as a Labourer. He moved to Perth WA in 1938 and married Ellen (Nell) Ada Meyer (b1913 in Sydney, NSW) - Nell was a Dressmaker. George was a Sawyer in March 1942 when he enlisted in the ACMF (Sapper; Service No:W55120) attached to 22 Australian Field Coy RAE. In 1943 he enlisted in the AIF (Sapper; Service No:WX38607) and was attached to 22 Field Coy when he was Discharged in May 1945.
Following his Discharge, George and Nell lived in Subiaco, Perth WA where George was a Labourer. In the early 1950s the couple moved to Rivervale where George worked as a Sawyer. He died in 1994 and Nell in 1997.
