Corporal Raymond Thomas Holland (Service No:VX128235) enlisted in the Australian Army on 20 December 1943 and was attached to 13 Australian Small Ships Coy when he was Discharged on 27 February 1946.
Born in 1924 in Geelong Victoria, Ray was the eldest of three children of George Emmanuel Holland (b1898 at Port Campbell, Victoria) and Theresa Veronica Barmby (b1899 in Dimboola, Victoria). George (a Clerk) and Theresa married in 1921 in Geelong, Victoria. George and Theresa lived in Marshalltown where George was a Labourer before settling in Melbourne in the 1930s where George was a Tramways Employee.
Ray was working as a Window Dresser in Melbourne in 1950 when he married Kathleen (Kath) Joyce Aldridge (b1925 at Tallangatta, Victoria) - Kath, a Stenographer - had served in the RAAF. Ray and Kath settled in Newcastle NSW where Ray was a Salesman. Following Kath's death in 1965 Ray relocated to Victoria where he died in 1979.
