Son of Alphonso Van Doorsselaer, Vredestraat 29, Antwept, Belgium
On 14 December 1918 Abert married Suzanna Germaine Staelon in the Fulham Registry Office, England. Reigstrar and Superintendant Registrar L. Liverside and E.J. Mott officiated.
Commenced return to Australia on 7 November 1919 aboard HT Marathon disembarking on 1 January 1920.
