Carl Frederick Edwin, Siebert born in Wasleys, South Australia 1894. he was the son of Carl Siebert and Lydia Sophia Siebert. Carl was a single 21 year old man who grew up in Whyte-Yarcowie, South Australia as an only child. On the 28th of March 1916 he enlisted as a private in the 32nd infantry battalion. His service number was 3312.

Carl was 5 feet and 11 1/2 inches, he weighed 140 lbs with the chest measurements of 33.36 1/2 inches. His documents state that his complexion was fresh, his eyes were hazel and he had brown hair.

On the 27th of June 1916 Carl embarked in Adelaide and on the 22nd of August 1916 Carl disembarked in Devonport, England. In Larkhill 1916 on the 24th of august Carl marched in to 8th Training Bn. February 15th 1917 Carl was proceeded in France overseas, he was then taken on strength by the 32nd battalion in the field on March 13th 1917.

Carl was wounded in action on October 12th 1917 but remained on duty. Carl was admitted to the 8th Australian Field Ambulance for gastritis on the 30th of November 1917 and was discharged to duty, and rejoined the Bn on the 5th of December 1917. On July 26th 1918 Carl was on leave to the United Kingdom, and then rejoined the Bn from leave on the 16th of August 1918. Carl went to the Australian Corps Intelligence School on the 28th October 1918, he was then Admitted to 3rd Australian General Hospital at Abbeville for influenza on the 29th of October 1918 and was discharged to duty, and rejoined the Bn on the 10th of November 1918. On February 8th 1919 Carl went on leave to Paris and then rejoined the Bn on the 25th of February 1919. Carl then went on leave to England on the 3rd of March 1919 and rejoined the Bn from leave on the 21st of March 1919.

Finally Carl Marched out to England on the 17th of April 1919 for return to Australia and marched in to No 5 Group, Weymouth on the 24th of April 1919. Carl Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Port Lyttleton' on the 10th of June 1919 and disembarked at Melbourne on the 5th of August 1919, for onward travel to Adelaide, he was discharged (termination of period of enlistment) Adelaide on the 20th of September 1919.

After his return to Australia Carl got married to a woman named Siebert Matilda Lydia. Sadly Carl passed on the 20th of December 1930 age 36 and was buried at Crystal Brook Cemetery, South Australia row 12 gravestone number 465B next to his wife, were he will always be remembered.
