Sergeant Albert Gordon Kerr (Service Nos:V36433/VX134012) initially served with the ACMF (Private; 30 July 1941 - 21 January 1943) with 10th Battalion (Vic) VDC and was a Sergeant attached to 14/32 Battalion when he enlisted 'in the field' at Bushmead, WA on 22 January 1943. Sgt Ramus served with WA LoC Workshops and was attached to 110 Australian LAD at Discharge on 26 October 1945.

Albert was born in Melbourne, Victoria in 1917, second of three children of Charles (Charlie) Herbert Ramus (b1891 in Melbourne, Victoria) and Edith Christine Smith (b1893 in Melbourne, Victoria). Charlie was a Boot Operator in 1914 when he and Edith married in Melbourne, where they settled and raised their family and Charlie worked as a Boot Operator.

Albert was working in Melbourne as an Electroplater in 1941 when he enlisted in the Army, and in 1942 in Melbourne married his first wife Josephine (Josie) Hetherington Kiely (b1916 in Sheffield, Tasmania) - Josie was working in Melbourne as a Clerk. By 1949 they had divorced and Josie remarried in Sydney, NSW. Albert was working as an Electroplater in 1950 when he remarried to Waveney Kerr (b1913 in Melbourne, Victoria) - Waveney was working as a Milliner in Melbourne. Albert and Waveney settled in Melbourne, where Albert worked as a Butcher. Albert died in 1987 and Waveney in 1997.
