Enlisted as William Matthews (1812), actual name William Matthew Colbert - AWM Roll of Honour (www.awm.gov.au)

"This man stated before death, correct name William Matthew Colbert, next of kin, mother, Mrs. Colbert, Todd street, Kapunda, South Australia."

 

"THE LATE PRIVATE W. M. COLBERT.

Mr. James Colbert, of Kapunda, received word on September 28 that his youngest son, Private William M. Colbert, had died of wounds at the Dardanelles. Private Colbert was only 17 years of age.
