Robert was born 10th August 1896 in Beaudesert Queensland. He died 11th April 1918 at the Jordan River. He is buried Mt Soopus (Jerusalem War) Cemetery. His parents were James and Jessie (nee Marriott).

Two Brothers John Francis and Thomas Edward also served. There is a file at the Museum for these three brothers as they are descendants of Tamborine and Jimboomba Pioneer Familes.
