Private Edward Ronald Evans (Service Nos:V165497/VX133794) initially served in the ACMF from 3 January 1942 to 4 March 1943 (graded Driver Mechanic), and was 'in the field in Western Australia' on 5 March 1943 when he enlisted in the AIF (graded Storeman). Private Evans served in Morotai and Balikapan (26 May 1945 - 10 January 1946), and was attached to 4 Australian Armoured Brigade Field Workshop at Discharge on 9 August 1946.

Ted was born in Geelong, Victoria in 1923, eldest child of Edward Lawrence Evans (b1897 in Geelong, Victoria) and Lilah (Lily) Gwendoline Irwin (b1902 in Bellarine, Victoria). Lawrence and Lily married in 1921 in Geelong, and settled in Moolap where they raised their family and Lawrence was a Labourer. In the late 1920s Lawrence and Lily moved to Geelong, where Lawrence worked as a Driver and Labourer.

Ted was a Garage Hand in Geelong in 1942 when he enlisted in the Army. Following his Discharge, he was working as a Bus Driver in 1947 in Geelong when he married Elva Margery Collins (b1927 in Bairnsdale, Victoria). In the early 1950s Ted and Elva moved to Coraki via Woodburn in New South Wales, where they raised their family and Ted was a Bus Driver. In the early 1960s the family was in Bonalbo, where Ted was a Bus Proprietor, and in the late 1960s Ted and Elva settled in Brisbane, where Ted was a Foreman. Elva died in 1996 and Ted in 2012.
