Private George Edward Noble Bunker (Service No:WX21242) enlisted in the Army on 18 March 1942 and served in Morotai, Tarakan and Balikapan with 1st Australian Armoured Brigade Salvage Unit (16 March 1945 - 14 November 1945). Private Bunker was attached to 1st Salvage Unit at Discharge on 19 November 1945. Siblings Jim, Alan and Harry also served in WWII.

George was born in Boulder, WA in 1905, third of eight children of George Edward Bunker Snr (b1876 in Melbourne, Victoria) and Annie Ansit Williams (b1882 in Melbourne, Victoria). George Snr and Annie married in Perth, WA in 1901 and lived in Kalgoorlie and Boulder where they raised their family and George Snr was a Fireman. By 1910 George Snr and Annie had moved to Tenterdin via Albany WA where they settled on Clifton Hill Farm, before settling at Happy Valley Farm in Mortigallup where George Snr was a Farmer.

George worked in Northam WA as a Farm Hand from the mid 1920s and in Kendenup in 1930 married Frances Gertrude Sandilands (b1910 in Boulder, WA). George and Frances settled in Kendenup via Albany where George was a Farmer before moving to Perth in the early 1950s. George died in 1983 and Frances in 2004.
