David Taylor born in 1876 January Yorkshire England was 5'9.5 foot and weight 77.5 kg. He worked as a Shift Foreman and lived in Broken Hill. He enlisted into the Australian Army at Keswick South Australia at 38 years of age and 11 months. He servied a total of 1 year and 355 days in the 32nd Infantry Battalion in Epgyt and the western front. He earnt himself the Star medal, British War Medal and Victory medal for serving.

During his time he suffered a bullet wound to the head on the 19th July 1916 at the Battle of Fromelles. He was admitted to the 13th General Hospital on the 21st July 1916. He then was transferred to King George Hospital on the 1st of August and transfered to the 1st Auxiliary Hospital on the 20th of October 1916, where he was then discharged to Weymouth on the 31st of October 1916. He returned to Australia Melbourne via the hospital transport "Ulysses" on 12 of April 1917 where he was then deemed medically unfit to continue to serve due to his wound. He lived to 79 years of age and died on the 29th of June 1955 in SpringBank.
