Private Keith Guidera (Service No:W24564) enlisted in the ACMF on 22 February 1941 and was attached to 44th Infantry Battalion. Private Guidera served with a number of Gun Stations and 22nd and 29th Anti Aircraft Batteries. On 18 August 1945, Private Guidera was attached to the Australian Cinema Unit when he embarked from Brisbane for Lae on board the Ormiston, and later emplaned for Wewak. On 27 December 1945 he embarked from Lae for Brisbane on board the Duntroon, and was attached to 1 Australian Cinema Unit at Discharge on 24 January 1946.
Born in 1915 in Fremantle WA, Keith and his twin Ken were the youngest of seven children of Thomas Aloysius Guidera (b1866 in Virginia, South Australia) and Honorah (Hannah) Agnes Mulconray (b1878 at Emu Downs in South Australia). Thomas (a Labourer) and Hannah married in 1902 in Fremantle WA, where they settled and raised their family and Thomas worked as a Labourer until his death in 1929.
Keith was a Storeman in Fremantle when he enlisted in the ACMF. In 1942 in Fremantle WA, he married Betty Laurel Joyce McLennan (b1918 in Perth, WA). Following his Discharge, Keith and Betty settled in Fremantle WA where they raised their family and Keith worked as a Storeman and Truck Driver. Keith died in 1988 and Betty in 1990.
