Tyler Ryder Birch.

Tyler Ryder Birch, Private, No. 573, C Company, 25th Battalion. Born at Quantong, Vic., and educated at Mt. Morgan. The son of George Arthur Birch and Alice Birch, of Darcy Street, Mt. Morgan. Enlisted January 15th, 1915, and sailed on 28th June, 1915. Arrived in Sydney on 1st July, sailed again on 7th July, arrived at Port Suez on 2nd August, 1915, and camped at Polygon Camp, Abbessia. Embarked at Alexandria on September 3rd, and sailed on 5th September, 1915. Arrived at Lemnos Island 7th September, sailed to Gallipoli on 11th September, and went into the trenches at Durrani Post. Shifted to trenches on the Apex on 6th October, 1915. Wounded through left Wrist and chest by shrapnel on 18th October, 1915. Left on 20th October, 1915, arrived at Malta, and transferred to Tigne Hospital, 24th October, 1915. Left Malta on 8th Jan., 1916, for Egypt, and was taken to No. 1 General Hospital. Transferred to No. 2 Auxiliary Hospital on February 9th, 1916.again to No. 1 Auxiliary Hospital on 12th March, 1916. Embarked on hospital ship Karoola on April 11th, 1916, at Port Suez and arrived at Brisbane 15th May, 1916. Was discharged as medically unfit on 23rd August, 1916.
