Charles was the fourth of seven children of George Nicols White (b1894 in Northampton, WA) and Helena Bridget Elizabeth Hennessy (b1890 in Toodyay, WA). George (a Teamster) and Helena (a Farmer) married in 1917 in Goomalling, WA where they settled and raised their family. George served in WWI (Private; Service No:6904) and WWII (Private; Service No:W27633) and worked as a Teamster, Tractor Driver and Farmer at Grange Clare Farm in Goomalling, WA.
Charles was a Milk Carter in Goomalling in 1941 when he enlisted in the ACMF (Private; Service No:W34779). He served with 16th Infantry Battalion and 24 Coy AASC and was Discharged in 1944. In 1948 Charles married Gloria June in Wyalcathum, WA and the couple settled in Goomalling and Korrelocking where Charles was a farmer until the early 1960s when they relocated to Perth. George worked as a Dresser until his death in 1966. Gloria remarried and died in 2016.
