Private Frank Rice Jackman (Service Nos:T24531/TX13443) iniitially served in the ACMF with 31 Coy AASC - Trade Group Cook (14 January 1942 - 20 July 1942), and was at Campania, Tasmania on 21 July 1942 when he enlisted in the AIF. Private Jackman was posted to Darwin in May/June 1943, attached to 31 Coy AASC, 11 Australian Supply Depot and NT PoW Reception Centre. Private Jackman was attached to 31 Coy AASC at Discharge on 4 December 1945.

Frank was born in Launceston, Tasmania in 1905, fourth of seven children of Townley Jackman (b1876 in Rothesay, New Zealand) and Florence (Florrie) Edith Howard (b1875 in Christchurch, New Zealand). Townley (a Dairyman) and Florrie married in 1898 in Wellington, New Zealand, and by 1902 had moved to Tasmania, where they settled and raised their family. Townley held a number of jobs - Hawker in Mersey, Tea Merchant and Fruiterer in Launceston, Carrier in Beaconsfiled and Labourer and Fisherman in Hobart (including at Blackman's Bay).

Frank worked as a Gardener and Greengrocer/Shopkeeper before enlisting in the Army, and in 1945 in Launceston married Freda (Lily) Lillian Hingston (b1913 in Launceston, Tasmania) - Lily was a Corporal in the AWAS (Service No:TF150166). Following Discharge from the Army, Frank and Lily settled in Moonah, where they raised their family and Frank was a Gardener. Frank died in 1982 and Lily in 2007.
