Sergeant James Lindsay Dundon (Service Nos:V157626/VX149921) initially enlisted in the ACMF on 21 July 1942 as a Private attached to 3 Motor Transport Training Depot, and was a Corporal attached to 16 Detention Barracks in Lae on 2 November 1944 when he transferred to the AIF. Corporal Dundon emplaned from Nadzab for Townsville on 28 November 1944, and was a Sergeant attached to 16 Australian Detention Barracks at Discharge on 3 May 1946.

Jim (nee Perriman: BDM Vic:35035) was born in Melbourne, Victoria in 1914, eldest of two children of Martha Emily Perriman (nee Murphy; b1879 in Wychitella, Victoria). Martha (a Divorcee with two sons) married Charles William Dundon (b1896 in Cumberland, England) in 1920 in Melbourne. Charles had been a Telegraph Messenger and Private in the Territoral Forces (Regimental No:1109) in London before immigrating in 1913. Charles was a Labourer in Melbourne in 1914 when he enlisted in the AIF (Private; Service No:2749). Following his Discharge in 1918, Charles returned to Melbourne, where he was Woodworker when he and Martha married. The couple settled in Melbourne, where they raised their family and Charles worked as a Cabinetmaker.

Jim worked in Melbourne as a Stereotyper (producung metal printing plates), and in 1935 in Melbourne married Edith rita May Prosser (b1915 in South Yarra, Victoria). Jim and Edith settled in Melbourne, where they raised their family and Jim worked as a Stereotyper, Salesman and Agent. Jim died in 1986 and Edit died in 2009.
