Lance Corporal William Frank Rogers (Service No:VX76879) enlisted in the Australian Army on 27 February 1942 and was attached to 54 Field Park Coy RAE when he was Discharged on 9 November 1945.
William was the second of four children of Arthur Clifford Howell Rogers (b1888 in Melbourne, Victoria) and Nancy Morrison (b1888 in Frankston, Victoria). William was born in 1910 in Melbourne, Victoria. Arthur (a Clerk) and Nancy married in 1908 in Melbourne where they settled and raised their family. Arthur was a Clerk until the late 1920s when he bacame a Garage Proprietor, and in the 1940s an Engineer.
In 1932 William was a Grocer in Melbourne when he married Elizabeth (Joyce) Josephine Toulen (nee Jackson; b1907 in Melbourne, Victoria). The couple settled in Melbourne and William was a Manager when he enlisted in the Army in 1942. By 1949 William and Joyce had separated - William was living with his parents and working as a Grocer and Joyce was working as a Physiotherapist. In the mid 1950s William remarried to Ella and settled in St Kilda, Melbourne where he worked as a Grocer. William died in 1960.
