Daughter of Lucilla Idonia TISDALL, 5 Metung Street, Balwyn, Vic.
Margaret was on the Nursing Staff of Alfred Hospital Melbourne when she enlisted. She married Robert Ivan STONE, c/- National Bank, Collins, Street, Melbourne on 07 February 1945.
Awarded Royal Red Cross for devotion to duty in Sth Pacific and distinction in Middle East (New Guinea 2/8 AGH) 02 August 1945
Nov. 1943 - Sep. 1944 - During the period 2/8 Aust Gen Hosp has been operating in New Guinea, this officer has performed her duties as Matron with unswerving loyalty, with complete disregard for personal consideration, and her duties have been performed under extremely trying conditions such as seldom experiences in times of war. Major Tisdall served with distrinction in the Middle East especially with 2 Facio Max Plastic Unit.
