Biography contributed by Adelaide High School

John Stewart Campbell Craig was born in approximately 1898 and lived in Glenelg, South Australia. He enlisted in the war in 11th of April 1916 when he said he was 18 years old, but may in fact have been under age (as his headstone says he was 85 when he died in 1984). John was a male soldier that was on the 32nd battalion, and previous job was being a clerk. John’s nickname was Jack during World War 1. He was repeatedly ill during the war, suffering from measles and influenza. He survived the war and successfuly arrived back in Australia. He died on the 4th of February 1984 (86 years of age) and is buried at the Centennial Park Cemetery.
