Thomas Frederick Melville

Tommy was the youngest child, and had 6 older siblings.
His mother was Harriett Ann Melville (nee Livock) and his father was Alfred.

He lived at 85 Harslett Cres, Beverly Park Kogarah Sydney, with his wife Cathy.
They had no children, but upon the death of his 38/39 year old sister Lillian May Smith (nee Melville) in 1955, he took in (1 of Lil's 2 children) her son, his Nephew Peter, who was around 8 years old.
Lil's other child a daughter Beverly, lived for a short time with Tommy's brother Charles & his wife Marjorie, before going to live with their Sister Maud Margaret Lennon (nee Melville) & her husband Harold Lennon, who were also childless.

Tommy died on 22 Nov 1974, aged 55, from Cancer.
He was cremated and his ashes interred at Woronora Cremation Area GG, Rose Garden 9, #001 near his wife Cathy #003 who died 39 years later aged 88.

Thomas Frederick Melville was Born 23 Dec 1918 in Sydney, and was Baptised at St. Peters Anglican Church   His parents were Alfred Earnest Albert Melville & Harrett Ann (nee Livock)

Tommy as he was called, was the youngest and had 6 older Siblings.  Maud Margaret 1908, Florence  Jane1909, Alfred Charles 1911, Rita 1913 (only lived 7 moths), Harriett Ann Jnr 1914, Lillian May 1916.

Tommy married Catherine Iris Hartmann.

They bought a home in 85 Harslett Cresent Beverly Pak Sydney in the 1940's and lived there till Tommy's death from Cancer on 22 Nov 1974 aged 55.

In 1955 his sister Lillian died, and as her husband had left the family years earlier, her 2 children became orphans.  As Tommy & Cathy did not have any children, they took in and raised Lillians son - Peter Smith aged 8.  Peter's name was changed to Melville.

Uncle Tommy as he was known to myself (my father's brother) was always the life of every party, and a favourite uncle to all his nieces and nephews.
