Alwyn was the son George Francis Sydenham and Zoe Sydenham nee Hills.
World War 1 Service: 26.5.1915: Enlisted Lieutenant with the A.I.F. 28 May 1915: Involvement 13th Light Horse Regiment. Served in Gallipoli, Alexandra, Malta, France and England. 20.12.1918: Discharged
Medals: 1914-15 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal.
Awarded the Croix de Guerre in 1918.
Married in 1956 to Betsy May Burton.
