Private Percy John Carne Marino (Service Nos:V285552/VX115399) served in the ACMF (19 January 1942 - 19 July 1942) with 6th Field Ambulance, transferring to the AIF 'in the field' in Western Australia on 20 July 1942. Private Marino served in New Guinea and New Britain, and was attached to 6th Field Ambulance at Discharge on 5 September 1947. His father and three brothers also served in WWII.
Perce was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1923, third of five children of Philip Marino (b1892 in Edinburgh, Scotland) and Annie Grace Jack (b1893 in Innerleven, Fifeshire, Scotland). Philip was a Labourer before serving in the British Army in France in WWI (1914 - 1920; Corporal; Regimental No:721). He and Annie (a Spinner) married in 1920 in Glasgow, and in 1928 immigrated with their five children, arriving in Melbourne, Victoria on board the Demosthenes. The family settled in Trafalgar, where Philip worked as a Labourer.
Perce worked as a Printer in Trafalgar before enlisting in the Army and, following his Discharge, returned and was working as a Printer in 1950 when he married Lesley Rodda (b1928 in Trafalgar, Victoria) - Lesley was a Typist in Trafalgar. Perce and Lesley settled in Toora via Foster where they raised their family and Perce was a Farmer. Perce died in 2004 and Lesley in 2017.
