Biography

John Medley ROBERTSON (1881-1917)

News has been, received of the death in France of BDR. J. Medley Robertson. . The deceased was
a clever electrician, and for several years before enlisting was engaged in that capacity at Anlaby.

He was a prominent member of the Kapunda cricket and football clubs, and was captain of the
Anlaby Eleven. He was a son of the Late Mr. A. Robertson, of Redhill (who in his day was a
champion rifle shot), and was born in that town.

He enlisted at the outbreak of hostilities, and left Australia with the first contingent. He
served several months on Gallipoli and after the evacuation he was transferred to (the artillery and to) France.
