Son of George Henry and Fanny Dixon of Clarence Park South Australia; formerly of Normanville SA; brother of Ethel May Dixon, Henry Darrel Dixon, Alfred Malcolm Dixon, Arthur Lloyd Dixon, Wallace Ross Dixon, Rhoda Matilda Dixon, Wilfred Horace Dixon and James Gordon Dixon.
Wallace Ross Dixon also served in WW1 with Australian Army Service Corp, 11 Company and returned to Australia on 13 December 1918.
28 March 1918 - Medical Report for Invaild stated that he was suffering from gradual onset of giddiness, palpitations, shortage of breath and general weakness which was preventing him from carrying out his duties and had been occuring since 23 August 1917 in Palestine
12 July 1918 - Samuel returned to Australia on board Port Darwin
