Private Morgan Llewyllyn Davies (Service Nos:W45924/WX39161) enlisted in the ACMF in Kalgoorlie WA on 14 March 1942, and served with 29 Garrison Battalion (WA) as a Private until 26 February 1943 when he enlisted 'in the field' in the AIF. Private Davies served with 37 Australian Coy AASC and 137 Australian General Transport Coy, and was a Driver attached to 124 Australian General Transport (AGT) Coy at Discharge on 19 July 1946. Brother Myrrdyn also served in the Army in WWII.

Morgan was born in Pyangle via Swan Hill, Victoria in 1920, youngest of three children of Morgan Davies Snr (b1883 in Glamorgan, Wales) and Sarah Curtis (b1882 in Glamorgan, Wales). Morgan Snr (a Grocer) and Sarah married in 1903 in Glamorgan, and in 1912 immigrated with their first two children, arriving in Melbourne, Victoria. Morgan Snr and Sarah lived in Kyabram, Bunyip and Pyangle, where Morgan Snr was a Farmer before moving to Mildura in the mid 1920s. Morgan Snr was a News Agent in Mildura, and served as a Justice of the Peace, and member of the Mildura Chamber of Commerce and President of the Mildura Rotary Club. In 1936 Morgan Snr and his family moved to the WA Goldfields, where they worked in Norseman and Esperance cyaniding gold tailings. In 1946 Morgan Snr and Sarah retired to Mornington, Victoria.

Morgan worked on the WA Goldfields - Norseman and Esperance - as a cyanider on gold tailings before enlisting in the Army. Following his Discharge, Morgan settled in Mornington, Victoria where he was a Farmer. In 1950 in Mornington, Morgan married Irene (Rene) Margaret Hurley (b1923 at Snapper Point in Mornington, Victoria). Morgan and Rene settled in Mornington, where they raised their family and Morgan worked as a Painter. Morgan died in 1990 and Rene in 2014.
