Added Richard to the christian name to simply his identity due to several relateives who were also called William. Also known as Rolfe Richard Willison.

Son of William Underwood and Mabel A. Underwood of Kinghorn Street, Nowra, NSW.
22 December 1916 - enlisted at Goulburn, NSW with the 7th Light Horse Regiment with the rank of Private.
6 June 1918 - transferred to the 2nd Machine Gun Squadron.
Commenced return to Australia on 28 June 1919 aboard HT Madras disembarking on 3 August 1919

26 April 1920 - discharged at the 2nd Military District as medically unfit
