Private Graham Alexander Mollison (Service No:VX95621) enlisted in the AIF in Melbourne on 24 October 1944 with 9 Recruit Training Battalion. Private Mollison was attached to 19 Infantry Training Battalion, 13/33 Infantry Battalion, 4 Armoured Brigade and 12 Garrison Coy. On 9 April 1946 Private Mollison was attached to 67 Infantry Battalion when he embarked from Sydney for Kure, Japan on board the Manoora as part of the British Commonwealth Occupation Force (BCOF). He embarked from Kure for Sydney on 4 October 1947 on board the Kanimbla, and was attached to 67 Infantry Battalion at Discharge on 9 October 1947. Older brother Jack also served in WWII, his father George, and Uncles Arthur, David and John (also served in WWII) served in WWI.

Joe was born in Melbourne, Victoria in 1926, second of three children of George (Mac) Medwick Mollison (b1893 in Numurkah, Victoria) and Florence (Florrie) Mary Emily Holt (b1894 at Bacchus Marsh, Victoria). Mac was injured at the Dardanelles in WWI and, a Bootmaker before the War, completed Vocational Training following his Discharge, and was a Liftman in Melbourne in 1923 when he and Florrie married. They settled in Melbourne, where they raised their family and Mac worked as a Liftman and was a published Poet.

Joe was a Seasonal Worker in Melbourne prior to enlisting in the Army. Following his Discharge, Joe returned to Melbourne where he lived with his parents.  In 1951 he married Jean Florence Cullen (b1927 at Wandin Yallock, Victoria) - Jean was a Textile Worker in Melbourne. Joe and Jean settled in Melbourne, where they raised their family and both worked as Machinists until retirement. Jean died in 1998 and Joe in 2019.
