Gunner Margaret June Robinson (Service No:WF57142) served in the AWAS from 16 July 1943 to 20 June 1946. Gunner Robinson served as a Radar Operator with 6 Training Coy Claremont, 109 Anti Aircraft Training Battery and 29 Heavy Anti Aircraft Battery.
Born in 1925 in Burekup WA, June was the second child of Vivian Albert Robinson (b1888 in Roebourne, WA) and Emily Joyce (aka Joyce) Murray (b1894 in Snowtown, South Australia). Vivian (a Station Manager/Pastoralist) and Joyce married in 1921 in Rose Park, South Australia and settled at Coongan Station in the Pilbara where Vivian was a Station Manager/Pastoralist. Vivian had served in WWI (Private; Service No:7302) and following his Discharge had returned to the Pilbara. In the 1930s the family moved to Burekup WA where Vivian was a Pastoralist.
Following her Discharge from the Army, in 1946 in Bunbury WA, June married Colin Brookes Rose (b1919 in Bunbury, WA) - Colin had served in the RAAF and AIF in WWII and was a Farmer in Burekup. June and Colin settled at Burekup where Colin was a Farmer until his death in 1971. June died in 2009.
