Maurice

Maurice was born on the 20.10.1919 to Thomas Richard & Vivian Mabel Eileen Alice (Ross), in Proserpine.

He resided and enlisted in Proserpine, on the 31.7.1941. He was a POW in Singapore, as part of D FORCE from Changi Prison. Maurice was retrieved from Japan (where he worked in the coal mines) on the 5.10.1945 and discharged on the 28.3.1946.
“He never took his shirt off in front of his family, till in his old age he was assisted at the doctors surgery by a family member. Revealing all the whip scars across his back”
He married Jean Helen Miller & resided in Cannon Valley working as a fisherman until he passed away on the 22.4.2003. NP7- grave330.
