Charles Gerald Bartram AMIS was born in Esternwick, Victoria on 14th February, 1924
His parents were Herbert AMIS & Eleanor Mary Guthrie WARREN
He married Olive ROBINSON in Sydney in 1944
He served in the 2nd/43rd Infantry Battalion and was discharged on 4th February, 1946 - later he rejoined the Battalion and served for many years in the Royal Australian Electrical & Mechanical Engineers and was awarded the Army Long Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal & the Meritorius Service Medal in 1975 which was awarded for over 22 years of service
Charles died on 5th June 2014, late of Ashmore in Queensland

His father Herbert AMIS (SN 464) served in the Navy during WW2 & also served after the War
His brother Henry William AMIS (SN S4396) served in the Royal Australian Navy during WW2 and was discharged on 4th January, 1946 as a Sub Lieutenant, HMAS Rushcutter
