Reg was the second of three children of Arthur Conduit (b1896 in Ararat, Victoria) and Margaret (Madge) Maloney (b1896 in Beulah, Victoria). Arthur - a Carter - and Madge married in 1920 in Warracknabeal where they settled and raised their family. Arthur worked as a Carter and Driver.

Reg was a Labourer in October 1943 when he enlisted in the ACMF. He served (Private; Service No:V514258) with 19th and 23rd Infantry Training Battalions and was Discharged on 1 December 1944. The next day he re-enlisted with the Australian Army, and served (Private; Service No:VX150199) with 15th Infantry Battalion in Bougainville (25 November 1944 - 4 October 1945). Reg was Discharged in November 1946.

Reg was in Melbourne in 1947 when he married Eileen Ellen Flynn (b@1926). The couple settled in Melbourne where Reg worked as an Assistant and Eileen as a Telephonist. Reg died in 2005.
