Post war Laurence became a member of the Queensland T&PI Association who arrange the transfer of Laurence from Perth, WA ot Brisbane in July 1957. Laurence travelled extensively living in London, NSW, Victoria, Tasmania, WA and finally QLD

During 1951 he was employed by Shell Oil Company, Fairmont, NSW
