Private Ronald Frank Lacey (Service No:VX149110) served in the AIF from 29 June 1944 to 18 October 1946 and was a Craftsman attached to 5 Australian Infantry Troops Workshop at Discharge.
Frank was born in Warragul, Victoria in 1924, third of four children of William (Bill) James Lacey (b1887 in Neerim, Victoria) and Ethel Marian Warren (b1893 in Steiglitz, Victoria). Bill was a Farmer in Neerim, and when he and Ethel married in 1918, was an Agent (Pig Buyer). Bill and Ethel settled in Warragul, where they raised their family and Bill was an Agent (Pig Buyer) until his death in 1939 - he was killed at Hedley Crossing when his motor vehicle was hit by a train.
Following his Discharge, Frank was working in Melbourne as a Vehicle Body Builder in 1947 when he married Alice Amelia Wilson (b1926). Frank and Alice settled in Melbourne, where they raised their family and Frank worked as a Vehicle Body Builder until his death in 1970. Alice died in 2000.
