Biography contributed by Richard Watson

Geoffrey Francis Broughton Woodhouse was awarded the Military Cross

The citation covering Lt. Woodhouse's award says that on Dec. 14 1944, Lt Woodhouse led a fighting patrol forward of our advanced position to Artillery Ridge, on Bougainville. The enemy was dug in on the precipitous ridge, and due to previous bombardments and air strike; had a clear field of fire. "Four days later he participated in a company attack on the same feature, again displaying resources and extreme courage."
